About

Main Street Elyria is a non profit organization that is dedicated to the revitalization of Downtown Elyria. Main Street Elyria is accredited by Heritage Ohio as an official main Street community and we practice the Main Street Four Point Approach. The Main Street Four-Point Approach is a community-driven, comprehensive strategy used to revitalize downtown and neighborhood business districts throughout the United States. It is a common-sense way to address the variety of issues and problems that challenge traditional business districts. The Four Points of OrganizationPromotionDesign and Economic Restructuring work together to build a sustainable and complete community revitalization effort. Members are invited and encouraged to participate on one of the four standing committees. If you or anyone in your business or household has an interest we encourage you to complete and return the Volunteer Form.

The Main Street Board of Directors is made up of local business owners, property owners and community leaders that are dedicated to the mission of making downtown Elyria the vibrant heart of the city. The Board sets the goals and evaluates the mission and values of the organization at their annual retreat.

Main Street Elyria is a volunteer organization. Without volunteers, the organization would not exist. The only paid employee is the Program Director. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact our office at 440-322-5000, or complete the Volunteer Form. Volunteers are always welcome and if you have a special talent or interest, there are many areas where your help would be appreciated.

Main Street is primarily funded through grants, membership and contributions. Many economical sponsorship opportunities exist for individuals and businesses thorough our full calendar of Events that runs from May until December.
