What are the major tourist attractions/special events/festivals bringing tourists into the area?
Our Elyria location has always attracted large crowds of people during each season of the year.
In the Fall, Ely Park brings in over 75,000 tourists from all over to participate in our Annual
Apple Festival that is held every 3rd weekend in September. The Kiwanis Club also puts on the
Halloween Parade each year in October to give people in the community a chance to be creative
and a chance for the children in the community to be proud and excited about where they are
from.
During the month of December, crowds of Elyrians and other communities flock to the
downtown to be amazed by the Festival of Lights held in Ely Park. The City begins putting
the lights up during the first week of December and they are kept up until after the first
of the year. Spring and Summer are also comprised of special events, such as Pride Day,
Farmer's Market, Fireworks held in Cascade Park, and an array of other tourist attractions.
